Situational Judgement Tutorial Test (SJTT)

These tests requires you read passages of text and to decide which course of action is the best by choosing from 4 alternatives.  You can answer using one of two commonly used answering options (i.e. identifying the Most versus the Least effective options OR rating all 4 options).  If you like you can try both these options together.  There is one version available targeting competencies in teamwork, influence, integrity and.

This questionnaire is not available free of charge.

Numerical Computation Test (NCT-SA)

You will be given a ‘target’ number.  You then choose from 6 other numbers to make the target number with the appropriate operations (add, subtract, multiply, divide).  Level 1 involves addition. Level 2 involves addition and subtraction.  Level 3 involves all four rules including the use of brackets.  Don’t be fooled – this is harder than it looks!

Plan your Path Test (PPT-FA)

This test requires you to trace a path towards various symbols in a pre-defined order.  The challenge is to plan your journey so that you never cross a path that you took previously.  This gets more complex as you progress through the 3 levels because the number of symbols, their positions and their content makes the process increasingly complex.  For Level 1  you simply need to join numbers sequentially.  For Level 2 there are numbers and letters . For Level 3 you are presented with a maze and your task is to get from the start to the end as quickly as you with as few errors as possible (i.e. avoiding ‘blind alleys’ and blocks).

This questionnaire is not available free of charge.

Preserve Wildlife Test (PWT-FA)

This test requires you to help animals find their way to their ‘home’.  They emerge from a cave and you direct them by opening and closing gates.  If they end up in the wrong home they die.  If you allow too many in one field they will die.  The challenge is to get as many home as possible as different animals keep emerging.  For Level 1 you have 4 animals, 4 fields and 4 homes.  For Level 2 you have 5 animals, 6 fields and 5 homes. For Level 3 you have 6 animals, 9 fields and 6 homes.

Animal Memory Test (AMT-BC)

This is based on the n-back method.  There are three levels of this test where the memory challenge gets harder.  You will see a landscape in which pictures of animals will appear and disappear.  For Level 1 you need to say whether each animal is the Same or Different from the previous one (i.e. 1-back).  For Level 2 you need to say whether each animal is the Same or Different from the one before the previous one (i.e. 2-back).  For Level 3 you need to say whether each animal is the Same or Different from the one that was two before the previous one (i.e. 3-back).

Picture Matrix Test (PMT-BC)

This is based on the ‘pairs game’.  You will be presented with the ‘backs’ of a pack of ‘cards.’  These can be turned over by clicking on them.  Once two cards have been turned over, if they match they remain visible but if they don’t they are turned back over.  If later you turn one over and remember that it is the same as a previous one you can make the match. There are 3 levels where Level 1 has a pack of 16 cards (4×4); Level 2 has a pack of 32 cards (4×8); Level 3 has a pack of 48 cards (6×8).

Wall Test (WT-BS)

You are presented with a wall and you must click on different sides of the wall depending on the image that appears. There are three levels of this test where the complexity of the information you must process increases. For Level 1 you simply click on the same side if there is a white circle or the opposite side if there is a black circle. For Level 2 your choice depends on whether you see a relaxing or a combative image. For Level 3 the choice depends on whether a face is either happy or sad – and you will see a great range of different faces.

Colour Confusion Test (CCT-BS)

This is based on the well known Stroop effect. The first half asks you to click on the colour that matches a word (i.e. if it says Blue you click on the Blue circle even if the word is in a Red font). This can introduce confusion. The second half of the test asks you to click on the colour that matches a colour of the ink (i.e. if it says Blue but the ink colour is Red you click on the Red circle).

Decision Analysis Practice Test (DAP-T)

This test is designed to measure areas of cognitive functioning that are important in today’s information rich world. It simulates both complexity and ambiguity by presenting a table of codes which, when combined, could be interpreted in a number of different ways. The test requires that the ‘best’ interpretation is chosen but also that there is some awareness of the degree of ambiguity it contains. This is measured by rating the confidence a person has in the answer they have given. In real life people who recognise the complexity and ambiguity in the information available to them can use approriate strategies to reduce the risk of poor decisions such as seeking further clarification or even delaying a decision.

This questionnaire is not available free of charge.

Memory and Attention Test (MAT)

This test requires you to read certain rules and apply them to successive panels that contain shapes of different colours in various positions.  The challenge is to remember the rules and to apply them quickly and accurately.  As you go through the panels the number of rules increases and they get increasingly complex. It produces an overall score summarising speed and accuracy together with 4 further scores giving further information about how information is being processed. The test is in two parts and it takes aprroximately 30 minutes which includes the time to read the instructions and complete the practice examples .

Verbal Analogies Test (VAT-SA)

These tests require you to identify a relationship between two words or concepts and apply that logic to a second pair of words? This was once the most common format to use when measuring verbal reasoning and was part of many ‘IQ’ tests. Today they are still used especially in the field of education.

Closed Verbal, Numerical & Abstract Reasoning

These tests present you with information which you need to understand, analyse and choose a correct answer. The Verbal Test requires that you read passages of text and to decide whether certain statements follow logically from the information in the passage i.e. True, False or Can’t Tell.   The Numerical Test requires that you analyse numerical information presented as graphs, tables and other forms of chart and you have to identify the right numerical information to produce a solution using basic numerical skills (such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios etc.). The Abstract Test has two groups of 6 shapes (the A or B groups) and you are required to detect a pattern that fits all six shapes in the A group and a different pattern that fits the B group. You then decide whether a further image fits the A or B pattern or neither. All these tests are timed and, on completion, a pdf report is generated showing you how you compare to others taking the tests in similar conditions. It also gives information to help you consider your test taking strategy in terms of speed versus accuracy.

Memory and Attention Brain Capacity (MAT-BC)

This test requires you to read certain rules and apply them to successive panels that contain shapes of different colours in various positions.  The challenge is to remember the rules and to apply them quickly and accurately.  As you go through the panels the instructions get increasingly complex but there are also three levels which introduce numbers and faces that make the memory challenge harder.  For Level 1 the rules apply to identifying shapes of different colours in different positions and clicking on those specified.  For Level 3 the rules apply to shapes and numbers.  For Level 3 the rules apply to shapes, numbers, letters and faces.
