Why do this course?

360 feedback is both powerful and sensitive. To make it a positive experience that leads to insight and personal growth requires considerable skill on behalf of the facilitator. This course will cover the range of standard 360 models available from Team Focus (the Coaching Model, the Leadership Model, the Emotional Intelligence Model and the World of Work Model) and the best ways to set the process up, to engage both the subject of the exercise and the participants chosen to give the feedback, address important questions concerning confidentiality and anonymity and practice at how to use the information in the report to best effect.

What is involved:

This one-day course will cover both the principles and the practice of using 360 feedback. All participants will complete a 360 before the course which targets the competencies required to conduct an effective coaching conversation. These reports will be used as practice in small groups during the course.

Your qualification:

You will become registered as a 360 degree feedback practitioner with Team Focus. And be granted full access to all the 360 models available.

Why do this course?

This course introduces you to the many and varied ideas concerning the nature of personality – a fascinating subject in itself.  However, it is also a pre-requisite for those wishing to achieve the internationally recognised certificate in Occupational Testing from the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA).

What is involved?

This course can be completed entirely online in its own right but if you are qualifying in one of our specialist instruments (TDI and Type Mapping, 15FQ+, NEO, FIRO) it is included as part of that qualification enabling you to achieve the BPS and EFPA certificates of competence.

Your qualification

Since the course provides an overview of personality it does not qualify you in any specific instrument but you will become registered and eligible to purchase and use the Learning Style Indicator (LSI) and the Career Interest Inventory (CII) from Team Focus.

Why do this course:

What has the greatest potential impact on performance?  It is working relationships.  How do you measure and audit this critical element?  This is where many companies fall down – largely because there have been so few tools that capture the essence of this area.  The Relational Health Audit now fills that gap.  It is a flexible diagnostic tool which highlights the state of current relationships – whether between individuals, within a particular team, with the organisation or with external suppliers and customers.  This information has direct and practical implications for strengthening relationships.  It has been successfully applied in different organisations and offers a quick and effective mechanism for crystallising key issues and enabling a structured discussion between both parties on how to improve their working relationship.  It is based on the Relational Proximity model:

Aims of the Accreditation Course:

• Provide a unique and innovative approach to diagnosing the problems of poor relationships within and between organisations based on the tried-and-tested five dimensional model of healthy relationships
• Gain accredited user status for access to and use of the various versions of the RHA tool
• Become confident and proficient in using the Relational Health Audit in a variety of contexts.

• Understanding the Relational Proximity Model that underpins the RHA?
• Understanding the way in which psychometric instruments add value
• Practice in how to administer and score the questionnaire
• Understanding the results in terms of the theory and the norm tables
• Practice at reviewing the results with individuals and teams
• Learning how to use the tool fairly and ethically

Why do this course?

FIRO^® (Fundamental Interpersonal Relations Orientation) is one of the most powerful models for understanding our personal and interpersonal needs and how they influence our interactions with others.  This is key to building better relationships. FIRO^® Element B is Schutz’s updated version of his original FIRO^®-B which it has superseded.  Whilst the ‘B’ in FIRO^® Element B stands for behaviour, this course goes deeper.  It enables you to experience the feelings that underly those behaviours and provides insight into how these spring out of our (often unconscious) self-concept.  On the surface the FIRO^® model is simple – 3 fundamental behaviours aiming to manage our need for inclusion, control and openness.  However, simple does not mean easy – as is revealed in Schutz’s aptly named book Profound Simplicity.  This course equips you to develop impactful interventions that create insight, develop individuals and builds relationships and teams.

What is involved?

There is no pre-course work since the emphasis on the course is experiential learning.  However, you may choose to read ‘The Human Element’ if that is your preferred way of learning. The two days will take you through the five windows into the self, thus allowing you to explore your own needs and feelings in a safe environment.  The two face-to-face contact days are highly experiential together with an excellent opportunity to practice giving and receiving feedback in small groups managed by an experienced tutor.  You also get a chance to see others managing the same process and learn from potentially very different styles which makes it an invaluable learning experience that cannot be rivalled with online alternatives.

Who will be your tutors on the course?

This course will be led by Roy Childs – someone who trained and then worked with the originator Will Schutz and who also wrote the Chapter describing the use of FIRO^® Element B in the book ‘Psychometrics in Coaching’. Roy is also a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, Consultant Editor for the BPS Test Review process and a BPS Verifier for this level of course.

Your qualification

On successful completion you will have access to FIRO^® Element B (online or pencil and paper versions) and, depending on your needs, you can choose two levels of qualification as follows:

Registered Practitioner: delegates become eligible to purchase FIRO^® Element B together with support material.

BPS and EFPA Certificates: the course is verified to enable course delegates to receive these internationally recognised certificates of competence known as Test User Personality (formerly Level B) if certain pre-requisites have been met.
