Many people use Jung’s ideas of Psychological Type and have trained to use one or another of the Type questionnaires
such as the MBTI®. However, we are all aware of the limitations of trying to get at personality through self-report.
In fact, using questionnaires relies heavily on the consciously held self-image – the ‘things I say about myself’.
We are therefore offering the chance to explore the ideas of Psychological Type and the Jungian Model, including the Archetypes,
using the Watchword Technique. The Watchword Technique can help to go beyond such consciously held views (elicited by
questionnaires) and can also extend the range of approaches and interventions you can initiate using Psychological Type.
This seminar will examine the personal meaning of different Types and you will be encouraged to focus on comparing
your TDI and MBTI® Type with the Type suggested by the Watchword. It will also examine how Jung’s symbolism adds further
dimensions to the use of Type revealing the deeper issues and meanings. During the day you will:
- Explore ideas about Psychological Type and Beyond Type, for example, ‘the Shadow’
- Learn to administer and begin to interpret the Watchword Matrix
- Explore dominant themes from the Watchword Matrix
- Compare the TDI and MBTI® with the Watchword Matrix
- Explore mandala symbolism and the spatial symbolism and structure of the Matrix
The workshop is designed for:
- Practitioners who are interested in personal development
- Experienced MBTI®, TDI and Type questionnaire users who want to develop their ideas beyond the ‘four letters’, by deepening their understanding of the dynamics
We expect a mix of Human Resource Practitioners, Managers, Counsellors and Psychologists interested in human development and learning.
