An in-depth exploration of Jung's controversial views on leadership, the theory on which they are based and practical implications for coaching and development. This goes beyond psychological type into Jung's wider theories of transformation and development. This workshop provides both grounding in the fundamentals of Jung's theories and insight into his unique lens on leadership.
With the emergence of transformational leadership, following James MacGregor Burns’ seminal work in 1978, there has been a convergence between Jung’s theories on transformation and leadership theory. This workshop will examine the parallels between the theories of Burns and Jung, and provide practical implications and applications of Jung’s approach to leadership coaching and development. In particular, the workshop will cover:
- An introduction to Burns and Jung
- An introduction to Jung’s theory of transformation
- A comparison of Jung’s theory of psychological types and his theory of transformation, including his discussion of how and why too much focus on psychological type can inhibit transformation
- A comparison of Burns’ transformational leadership theory and Jung’s analytical psychology
- Application of Jung’s theory on transformation to leadership, including its use in coaching, organisational leadership and analysis of political leadership case studies
Investment will be £495 per delegate.
