Careers guidance – what can I do?

Team Focus offers a careers guidance service for those at school or university who wish to make informed choices about their options for the future. It involves a comprehensive process of self-exploration, often involving psychometric tests and questionnaires specially designed to uncover both interests and potential. Guidance also includes helping clients to fully appreciate how personality, values and other psychological factors affect the career and educational choices they make.

  • Full assessment with personal feedback £425

Typically a full assessment will start with an initial contact by phone and online completion of a personality questionnaire and career interests inventory, followed by attendance at TFL offices (Maidenhead) to complete some ability tests and a 90-minute face-to-face feedback session. You will receive individual computer generated reports for each of the assessments taken, and a specially prepared summary report, and a career counselling session to draw up conclusions. This will also involve discussion with parents (if appropriate) about main themes and next steps. The time required on the day is 3 hours and is conducted by qualified psychologists with career or educational experience.

  • Remote assessment with personal feedback £350

The above tests and questionnaires are completed online and followed by a 90-minute face-to-face feedback session, individual computer generated reports for each of the assessments taken, and a specially prepared summary report.

  • Remote assessment £125

It is possible to receive guidance by completing a selection of tests and questionnaires online and then having a 60-minute telephone feedback session. This option does not include a summary report, although clients do receive extensive computer generated reports for all the assessments they complete.

  • Consultation £55

Additional informal sessions can be used as follow-ups to the main assessment. For younger clients these may include further discussions with parents about examination, study or career options. Consultations are charged at an hourly rate.

Career change – what can I do next?

For those in employment the question is often how to manage an existing career, or how to move into a different job or career all together. Again the emphasis is on rigorous self-exploration accompanied by expert feedback. This time tempered by realism over what is feasible given a client’s track-record, responsibilities and access to additional education or training.

  • Consultation £900

Career changers will often require a number of individually tailored sessions, which may include psychometric assessments, as appropriate. As an indication of cost, the fee for three 90-minute sessions spaced over a number of weeks, inclusive of all the relevant assessments and a summary report, would be £900. Fees will necessarily vary depending on what is required.

All careers services are delivered by highly trained and experienced psychologists in a confidential and supportive atmosphere.
